This is a prestigious competition originated from Italy and is currently the benchmark for recognizing the top Salsa & Bachata dancers around the world!

We will be introducing this new format of competition in Singapore for the first ever Universal League Asia Championship!

FORMAT: ALL ON STAGE

It is defined as a dance discipline in which the dancers (solo) dance its routine on DJ music selection.

For all “All on stage” divisions the duration of the music will be 1 minute 30 seconds. With approximately 5 seconds plus minus for the start and ending each respectively

Each Participant will prepare 1 minute 30 seconds of choreography

Participants are allow to improvise to the selected song should there be any music break

The competition will take place simultaneously in groups of 12 in all rounds, except in final rounds, in which only 6 solos have access, to compose the final.

You can prepare the same choreography for all rounds

There are no limits or restrictions in the number of figurations for all category “All On Stage “

Tricks are allowed for all categories but will not be used as a determining factor as judging will be based on Salsa or Bachata
The use of stage props or accessories as stage props is forbidden.

SALSA ALL ON STAGE

Is possible choose to dance On1 or On2, but you have to keep the same timing for the whole duration of the routine.

The accepted timing for this competition is 1-2-3, 5-6-7. 2-3-4, 6-7-8.


BACHATA ALL ON STAGE

The Performance must be danced always on1 and it should be kept for the whole routine.

AMATEUR LEAGUE DEFINITION

This league represents an ‘entry level’ and is designed for amateurs competitors with an intermediate level


ADVANCE/PROFESSIONAL DEFINITION

ADVANCE –
Designed for amateurs competitors with an advanced level.
&

Professional –
A dance teacher or professional performers who earn his living by dancing

 

DRESSES

Dance shoes are compulsory, and they can be of whatever colour or material.

It is forbidden to use gym, hip hop or funky shoes.

It is forbidden to throw hats or parts of the dress.

All costumes should respect rules and ideas of decorum and all the intimate parts must be properly covered.

STAGE PROPS & ACCESSORIES

The use of stage props or accessories as stage props is forbidden in all division.


MUSIC ALL ON STAGE

The Music will be chosen by the DJ

– Authentic Bachata songs with Bachata instruments e.g. Dani J, Romeo Santos (No remixes)

– Authentic Salsa songs with key Salsa instruments e.g. La Maxima, Tito Puente (No remixes)

Salsa timing is 1-2-3, 5-6-7 or 2-3-4, 6-7-8. Dancers should keep the timing for the whole performance depending on the discipline involved,
Bachata timing is 1-2-3-4 , 5-6-7-8.

MUSICALITY Dancers should demonstrate their ability to act in a   creative way in relationship with the music. This can be done in different ways like partnerwork, footwork, tricks and lift.

TECHNIQUE

Technique is judged through balance, Isolation, line of the arms, legs and feet.
Technical characterization of the dance is essential, and body movements should be typical and characteristic of Caribbean dances.
DIFFICULTY Difficulty of the choreography is seen through footwork, partnerwork, spins, lifts and tricks. In order to obtain credits on one of these features, each movement should be done with the correct technique and the right effort.
CHOREOGRAPHY Creativity, originality of the performance will be evaluated. A good choreography should show creative elements and originality in the execution. It is fundamental to move in the space in a proper and confident way.
KYNESTHETIC SHOWMANSHIP 33 Showmanship is the ability of the dancer of expressing emotions, related to the dance of the  performance, creating the right atmosphere on an  interpretative, artistic and charismatic level.

REGISTRATION 

All contestants are require to register before the deadline  – 10th November 2024
Contestants are given the privilege to sign up for approximately 20% off Workshops and 10% off for Private class with the Guests Artistes from Italy – Tony & Alessandra
